Ed Hess, Berlin, Wisconsin
n the March issue of G.M. you stated you wanted pictures of old dealerships. This was the First John Deere dealership in Berlin, Wisconsin, located on Franklin St. in Berlin , from 1936 to 1947. It was owned by Ed Hess. Ed sold the dealership in 1947, and the building was demolished. The lot since then is a parking lot. I currently have his indoor display sign that Ed had while being a dealer. It now is displayed in my workshop. Notice no equipment outside, except for a Corn Shocker. Ed’s Son told me that almost all the Farm Equipment they had was stored in the building and basement of the building including Tractors.
